GET OUT ON THE WATER
July 30, 2008

At Collinsville Canoe and Kayak, they are ready to get you out on the water.  It’s a great way to keep cool and get a little exercise.  I recently went out on a kayak on the Farmington River and it was so fun!  You can rent a canoe or kayak by the hour and you can sign up for lessons as well.

MEN IN KILTS
July 22, 2008

Last weekend, we had fabulous jazz in Bushnell Park.  This weekend,  July 25th-27th, it’s all things Irish at the Greater Hartford Irish Music Festival in Glastonbury.   Fantastic Irish music and food and fun for the family.  It’s all at the Irish American Home Society on Commerce Street in Glastonbury.   Don’t miss the Men in Kilts competition on Saturday, part of the proceeds go to the Channel 3 Kids Camp!

Here is the link with all the info.  See you there!

ALL THAT JAZZ
July 16, 2008

Hartford has a long history of fantastic jazz music and this weekend will be a hot weekend of tunes in Bushnell Park with the Hartford Jazz Festival.  Come early to get a seat on the lawn and bring a picnic!  The best part is, it’s free!

Here is the link for the festival:  http://www.hartfordjazz.com/indexa.htm

Connecticut’s Wine Trail
July 7, 2008

If you are on vacation this week, check out Connecticut’s Wine Trail.  Even if you never take a sip of wine, the 19 vineyards are in the most historic and beautiful parts of the state.  One of my favorites: The Stonington Vineyards.  Try the Seaport White!   Here is a link to the Wine Trail site.
