GETTING READY FOR TWINS !

I have not blogged in while,  I’ve been a little busy attempting to get ready for twins!!  So , first things first:  the West Street Grill in Litchfield is open for business again after a terrible accident where their executive chef was burned.  He is doing much better and  if you have not been there,  make sure you make the trip, the food is so special.

Back to the twins,  over the past few weeks my emotions have gone from total panic to excitement to curiosity and wonderment.  My twins are due on June 6th.  They will be my first children and I could not be more excited or more nervous!   I have gotten lots of advice from wonderful viewers of Channel 3 Eyewitness News in the morning.  Many people are parents of twins and say, “get your sleep now because you won’t be getting it when they arrive.!”   I’m sure that’s the case and I think I’ve prepared over the past couple of years because I wake up at 2:30am each day to go to work, but I know nothing can really prepare you for two babies who may be awake all night!

My family and friends have been incredible, throwing me a baby shower and showering me with gifts for the babies including two precious hand knit sweaters made by my mother in- law.

The viewers have been amazing as well, some of them sending me handmade sweaters, hats and blankets.   I am in awe of the time and talent of some of the women here in Connecticut.  The gifts for the babies are so beautiful and I am overwhelmed that they take the time to make gifts by hand for them.   Thank you all so much.

I have just a short time to go before the babies are born, I continue to be amazed by the range of emotions I have, sometimes I’m even terrified!  Yikes!  I am so fortunate though to have a wonderful network of friends, family and faithful viewers of Channel 3.

The sexes of the babies are going to be kept a surprise, so stay tuned!

  1. Wow, time sure is going by quickly. It seems to ME as though the pregnancy is going fast. Probably because you are pregnant and not me. My children are grown and I have a four year old grandson.

Babies are soooooo much fun, you will love it. I bet having twins will be a bit more of a challenge but way cool.
So many gifts from your viewers, very nice.

    Well, best of luck.
    Hope the labor is quick.
    It won’t be long now.

  2. I am very excited for you. My husband and I watch channel 3 every morning. When you are out for a day I would wonder if you out because of the babies. I didn’t realize your due date was June. You look great!! Please keep us up to date. I look forward to the updates.

  3. You look great by the way! I’m not so sure about the babies sexes being a surprise based on the cupcakes from Mazzicatos! Boys, girls, one of each either which way Congratulations! Don’t be nervous enjoy every second of your pregnancy. Even try your best when your uncomfortable or not feeling so great. Yes I am a mom of 3 so I have an idea of how uncomfortable it is that you are! Believe it or not one day you’ll miss being pregnant. I know myself now when I see someone’s baby bump it brings back great memories of my Gianna, Nicholas, and Sarah. Good luck to you and God Bless!

  7. Irene, you are carrying the babies very well. I had twin girls and looked like the side of a barn – you have to be carrying boys – you are absolutely glowing! I know what you mean about terrifying times – I remember sitting in my car for 45 minutes with hands shaking thinking oh my … how will I do this? : ) don’t worry I’m still smiling the work is well worth the effort and I know you will be delighted in the end. Take good care of yourself, pamper and rest up but oh what a wonderful time you will have! Can’t wait for the big news and pictures!! Julie

  8. I was watching the show a few weeks ago and heard you were having twins. As a twin myself, you will have your hands full. That said, you will also see the reward of two children growing up together. For me, being a twin is special because my twin sister and I share a very unique bond different from our brother and sister. In the end, we always have each other. Enjoy them and congrats.

  11. I’m very happy for you! My mother & aunt were twins, born in 1923. They were so close, and shared everything together..The
bond is incredible. My father remarried to another twin, and had
twin daughters. My grandfather was also a twin. I only wish, my
daughter or I had twins, but we did not.
What I want to say, is that now that I am older, I realized
how lucky we were to have them, and how it is not a burden,
    but sure pleasure.
Good luck with your 2 blessings..I will be looking forward to
hearing the news! Take care…Cathy Misenti from Wethersfield
